The Perfect Golf Shoe- True Links

My quest for the perfect golf shoe was much like finding the perfect girl to marry. I set a list of unbreakable criteria and I stuck to it. My list of priorities for the perfect girl were fairly simple:

  1. Cute
  2. Fun
  3. Doesn’t own 100 cats
  4. Not auditioning to be a star on “My 1000 Pound Life”
  5. Not a hoarder

Kelsey immediately checked boxes 1, 2, and 4. Boxes 3 & 5 were the reasons we dated as long as we did. They took more investigation.

The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far

I was nervous the first time I met my future in-laws. Besides my father-in-law owning a safe full of guns, I didn’t know if my future mother-in-law would be a cat lady or a hoarder. They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Fortunately besides a small dog they had no other animals in their home. Check. In addition their house was clean and well kept. Not a hoarder. Check. Besides a room full of porcelain dolls (which I am still deathly afraid) of all of the boxes were checked. Porcelain dolls weren’t on my original list. I had to let it slide.

Me, a hoarder?

I am anything but a hoarder. I am as anti-hoarder as it gets. If I haven’t used something in 6 months I typically give or throw it away. My nephews have been the recipients of many great clothing items because of this. I don’t have coin or baseball collections and except for a moderate collection of golf shoes I feel like I’m a sane individual. I’m still trying to trim that collection down.

My collection is nothing like this guy’s

The Perfect Golf Shoe

I have tried every brand, make and model of golf shoe on the market. Most shoes I buy because they are on sale and feel somewhat comfortable in the store. After walking two holes in them though I realize they hurt my feet, aren’t waterproof, or are too heavy to comfortably walk 18 holes in.

The perfect golf shoes have very specific criteria.

The Perfect Golf Shoe Criteria

  1. Look Fresh (Not like they came from Ben Hogan’s closet)
  2. Lightweight
  3. Comfortable
  4. Return Policy
  5. Waterproof and breathable.

After years of searching the quest for the perfect golf shoe seemed to be a unachievable goal. Until…

True Links Golf Shoes

I was golfing with a friend two weeks ago. He was wearing the freshest pair of golf shoes I had seen in a long time: True Links. I had never heard of them. He saw an advertisement on Instagram and bought them. I loved them. Box 1 checked.

True Links 30 day Return!

I checked out their website: Truelinkswear.com They are a company in my home state, Washington. The had a nice variety of golf shoes, all the best looking shoes I had seen in a while. Most are priced around $150 a pair. This seems to be a reasonable rate for a nice pair of golf shoes and underpriced compared to most name brand models. It is especially a tolerable amount if they checked my other boxes.

After reading further it looks like they have a 30 day return policy! This is the only golf shoe company I have ever seen that offers that.

I Had to Try Them

My shipment came in the mail yesterday. Very Excited. A few things I noticed:

  1. They come with a shoe bag, not a box. Genius
  2. They are very lightweight/breathable
  3. Have you ever walked on pillows? That’s how they feel.
  4. Are my ankles cankles?

The Perfect Golf Shoe: True Links

It’s hard to believe but I think I came across the perfect golf shoe: True Links wins. Now i just need a pair of their waterproof shoes and I’ll be set.

Coincidentally if anyone is interested in the rest of my golf shoe collection let me know.

True Links: I’d be happy hoard any and all of your golf shoes. Feel free to send them my way.
